Henrad invests and innovates in sustainability

As you could read in our previous email, Henrad won a silver medal in the first international EcoVadis sustainability assessment.

As a pioneer in sustainable entrepreneurship, we pay special care and attention to our ecological footprint. Not only do we invest in the most environmentally friendly technology that exists, we have also put together a team at Henrad that is permanently engaged in sustainability management.

These are not empty words or just a good result on paper. We would like to present you with some important projects that will reduce our CO2 emissions by more than 4,500 tonnes per year.

Magazijn Heerlen

Warehouse centralisation

By centralising our warehouse in Heerlen and closing our warehouses in Beek and Halen, among others, the number of journeys between warehouses and our branch in Herentals and Nuth is being greatly reduced. This results in an annual CO2 reduction of 34 tonnes.

Zonnepanelen Avantis

100% CO2 free energy

Thanks to a partnership with Heylen Group, our warehouse is equipped with solar panels. This generates 525 MWh of green energy per year, corresponding to a CO2 reduction of 340 tonnes.

Verwarmingsinstallatie Nuth

Heating system

The heating system in the factory has been partly updated and fully optimised. As a result, we are saving 3000 kW or 553 tonnes of CO2 every year.

Recycle

Recycling

Both internally and externally, we ensure that packaging materials such as paper and plastic are recycled. Our environmental contribution is a CO2 reduction of 155 tonnes.

LED

LED lighting

More than 75% of lighting in our factory in Nuth is equipped with LED lighting that is fully smart controlled. Contributes to the environment by reducing CO2 emissions by 41 tonnes.

Green heat

Optimisation of raw materials

By reducing and re-using plastic and cardboard in production, operational optimisation of our raw materials and reducing scrap and steel, our ecological footprint is reduced by 3450 tonnes of CO2.
