Corporate Social Responsibility

1. Policy summary and objectives

Henrad NV acknowledges its duty to apply Corporate Social Responsibility (‘CSR’) values in the daily management of its activities to meet stakeholder expectations, i.e. customers, employees, regulators, investors, suppliers, society and the environment. The Board of Directors recognises that by maintaining high CSR standards and committing to continuous improvement, Henrad can seize opportunities and avoid risks occurring at the intersection of sustainability and commerce. Values such as honesty, partnership and equity must be upheld in our relationships with stakeholders.

Our holistic business approach is an acknowledgment of how essential our social, managerial and environmental responsibilities towards these stakeholders are to our success. We aim to demonstrate these responsibilities in our actions and policies.

The Managing Director is ultimately responsible for this policy’s application and the achievement of our objectives, while the Human Resources Manager coordinates the related departmental and interdepartmental activities.

2. Policy scope

This policy applies to Henrad and contains the minimum CSR standards required.

Where appropriate, the CSR policy will be reinforced by various other ‘related’ policies to ensure that the standards and objectives are sufficiently specified. The Managing Director will ensure that the CSR policy is supported through the appropriate organisational arrangements and will provide the resources required to achieve its goals.

3. Standards and objectives

3.1 Environment

We will strive to improve our environmental performance by applying our environmental policies and complying with the ISO14001 standard. Our heating solutions are designed to have the least environmental impact possible.

Our company’s processes and products do not produce any types of waste that cannot be recycled or reused. We are committed to never producing waste that will end up as landfill.

3.2. Health & Safety

We will strive for strong business performance while efficiently managing and minimising risks with our safety management system.

We will provide – and maintain – a safe, clean and healthy working environment, and promote a healthy lifestyle for our employees.

3.3. Gemeenschap

For the sake of all, we will maintain a dialogue with the local community.

We will assist young people from the local community with Henrad apprenticeships and work experience programmes, and by collaborating with local schools to develop and support learning activities that promote technical careers.

3.4 Customers

We guarantee customers that we will uphold our values of integrity, partnership and equity in our stakeholder relationships. We will record and handle customer complaints in keeping with our published service standards.

3.5 Employees

Concerning our employees, we shall, at the very minimum, meet the corresponding legal requirements.

We will pursue an equal opportunities policy for all current and potential future employees. We will continue to recognise the benefits of a diverse workforce and actively promote diversity as a core value.

We will offer our employees clear and equitable employment conditions and supply the resources required for their further development. We will implement a clear and fair remuneration policy for our employees.

We will take the necessary steps to ensure that all employees are treated with respect and are not subject to sexual discrimination or discrimination due to mental or physical ability.

We will pursue a socially responsible restructuring policy to cause as little inconvenience as possible and ensure a sense of dignity.

3.6 Business ethics

We will draw up agreements that clearly stipulate the agreed terms and the basis of our relationship with suppliers. We will do business in a way that prevents unfair business practices.

We will encourage suppliers and subcontractors to adopt responsible business policies and practices, to everyone’s benefit. We will not permit child labour.

We will implement monitoring procedures to verify that suppliers’ practices meet our expectations.

4. Whistleblower policy

The whistleblower policy is intended to reinforce the importance Henrad NV attributes to implementing a sound integrity policy, and this reflects the Works Council’s decision of approval, dated  20/09/2017.
